About Me

Jeremiah Moultrie has always had a passion for music as his mother's side of the family was filled with musicians. He especially loved to hear his mother sing in harmony with her other 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Jeremiah’s musical journey began at the young age of 3 when he started singing in the church choir. Throughout his younger elementary years, he participated in musicals at B.W. Tinker Elementary School in Connecticut including Horton Hears a Who!, Annie, and School Rock House.

Jeremiah started playing violin in the 7th grade at Berkeley Middle School. He was determined to build up his skills up so that he could lead a section. With this determination, he picked the violin up rather quickly and was able to outrank other violinists that had years of experience. He was chosen as the Principal Second Violinist and then auditioned for Marrington Middle School of the Arts, for which he was accepted. Additionally, Jeremiah began studying viola at the Berkeley Center of the Arts and transferred the same passion and dedication to the viola that he had given to the violin. He quickly fell in love with the dark tone quality that can be achieved on viola and since that time has continued to dedicate himself to both instruments. His senior year of high school, Jeremiah was accepted to attend the South Carolina Governor’s School of the Arts and Humanities which further honed Jeremiah’s skill set.

Over the years, Jeremiah has been a part of many international and professional groups including the Charleston Gospel Choir Orchestra, the World Symphony Youth Orchestra, Music for All’s Honor Orchestra of America, the National Youth Orchestra (NYO2 2019), Mount Pleasant Symphony, and North Charleson POPS! Orchestra.

Additionally, Jeremiah has performed as a soloist for many honors recitals and programs and has received many superior ratings and awards from competitions including Solo and Ensemble Events, and Piccolo Spoleto’s Rising Stars.

Although well-versed in many genres of music, Jeremiah especially enjoys playing modern and contemporary music and often collaborates with the Lowcountry Pianist & Company’s pop and classical string quartet!

In addition to acoustic violin, Jeremiah also plays electric violin with backing tracks which is a great option for cocktail hours, corporate events, and private parties!
